ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the relationship between family function and unhealthy mood in patients with vascular dementia (VD).Methods 120 VD patients were investigated by the Family APGAR index (APGAR),Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD),Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA),and Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE).Results 98 cases (81.7%) were in depression with anxiety.Family dysfunction was presented in 83.3% of 120 VD patients. The mild and moderate cognitive impairment were present in 55.8% and 44.2%.The score of MMSE,the total score and factors scores of APGA were negatively related to the score of HAMD and HAMA.The score of MMSE was positively related to the total score and factors scores of APGA.The family dysfunction,self-reported financial burden and cognitive disorder were the risk factors of unhealthy mood (OR>1).Conclusions The results suggest that improvement of VD patients' family function, reducing the economic burden and enhancing cognitive function can possibly relieve the unhealthy mood of patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the effect of long-term and low-dose aspirin therapy on the severity of acute ischemic stroke. Method 321 acute ischemic stroke patients were randomly divided into two groups: aspirin group and Non-aspirin group. In addition, a pair study was made.Clinical scores were used to indicate the severity of acute ischemic stroke. Results Clinical scores showed that there were no significant differences statistically in the two random groups and pair study. Conclusions Long-term and low-dose aspirin therapy can not reduce the severity of acute ischemic stroke.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the function and clinical significance of platelet-derived microparticles (PMP), glycoprotein(GP)Ⅱb-Ⅲa, PagT and blood-lipid in whole blood of patients with cerebro-thrombotic diseases before and after treatment. Methods The quantity of PMPs, activation ratio of GPⅡb-Ⅲa and PAgT were measured before and after treatment of cerebro-thrombotic patients by using flow cytometry and platelet adhesion instrument. Blood-lipid concentration was measured by automatic-biochemical analyzer. Results PMP, GPⅡb-Ⅲa , PAgT, TC, TG, and LDL were (223?54)/10 4 Plt, (77.98?14.22)%, (69.78?16.93) %, (5.12?0.85) mmol/L, (1.78?0.28) mmol/L, and (3.49?0.66) mmol/L respectively before treatment; and were (136?18)10 4Plt, (40.71?11.64) %, (58.12?12.51)%, (4.84?0.73) mmol/L, (1.43?0.33) mmol/L, and (3.03?0.62) mmol/L,respectively in the treatment group. These parameters were significantly decreased than that before treatment (P
